    FAQ

We can print your own custom designed artwork or help you with your artwork.

    SEEDED PAPER

    What seeds can I have?

Generally each sheet of our paper has only one type of seed…

    • Australian natives – Swan River Daisy or Lemon-scented Bottlebrush
    • Herbs – Basil, Oregano, Parsley or Thyme
    • Vegetables – Carrot or Lettuce

From time to time we may add a small run of mixed seed types.

We can also make paper with many other seeds… but not just any seed, many are not suitable. The seeds have to be small enough to fit in the thickness of the paper (or at least be held in the paper and form a small lump). If you would like paper with a special seed, contact us and we can advise (and have quite possibly already used those seeds so know if it will work).

    Do you have standard seeds?

Yes we do. Our standard paper has one of the following seeds

    • Australian natives – Swan River Daisy or Lemon-scented Bottlebrush
    • Herbs – Basil, Oregano, or Thyme
    • Vegetables – Carrot or Lettuce

Do you keep paper in stock?

Yes, we do. We try to supply most orders directly from stock. This avoids the delay caused by a slow (handmade) production process. However, if stock is depleted or your order is larger than our current stock, we will have to slot your requirements into the production schedule. For this reason, we always recommend that you let us know as soon as possible that an order is going ahead. We can then allocate stock and make sure it is available for when the artwork is ready.

Can I have a special seed?

Yes you can but extra set-up charges apply. There are many different seeds we can use in our seed paper… but not just any seed, many are not suitable. The seeds have to be small enough to fit in the thickness of the paper (or at least be held in the paper and form a small lump). If you would like paper with a special seed, contact us and we can advise (and have quite possibly already used those seeds so know if it will work).

Does the seed choice make any difference to cost?

Our standard seed paper is all the same price. For specially made paper with your choice of seed, we generally do not charge more (apart from the set-up charge). However, some seeds are considerably more expensive and this may influence the cost of specially made paper.

The type of seed also influences the method we use for printing. So, although the actual seeded paper costs the same for all our stock lines, the overall quote will differ according to seed and what printing method we need to use for that seed.

How long do the seeds last?

The viable life of the seeds depends on the type of seed, eg Bottlebrush and many other Australian natives will last up to 5 or 7 years, whilst most herbs and veggies would be OK for a couple of years. Not all the seeds in the seeded paper will remain viable for the same length of time.. they don’t all suddenly lose viability at 4 years 364 days! There will be a gradual tailing off, the longer the paper is kept, the fewer seeds will remain viable. Much the same as buying a packet of seeds in the shop, they have a ‘sow by’ date.

What colour is the seeded paper?

All our standard seeded paper is a light beige/off-white colour. Coloured paper can be made on request – prices may be around 10% extra.

    Is it recycled?

Yes, all our paper is 100% recycled (post-industrial waste).

Do you make paper that doesn’t have seeds?

Yes, we do. We are specialist paper makers and have wide capabilities to make just the unique paper for your special project. Please contact us to discuss.

    QUARANTINE

Can I send the seeded paper anywhere in Australia?

Western Australia and Tasmania have quarantine regulations which control the entry of seeds (and other potential bio-security hazards). Our seeded paper with Lemon-scented Bottlebrush seeds is not allowed into either WA or TAS. It is allowed into all other States and Territories. The other seeded paper is allowed into WA and TAS, subject to conforming with their documentation requirements and being appropriate seeds (which depends on the seed batch we have used to make the paper). Refer to Quarantine Considerations for more detail.

Can I send the seeded paper anywhere overseas?

Many countries have documentation requirements for any plant matter such as seeds. Paper-Go-Round can assist with the provision of this documentation (extra charges apply). We can also make paper especially to comply with the requirements of other countries (eg NZ).

We have sent paper to various countries in the region (Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Malaysia, Taiwan) as well as countries in the EU. Refer to QUARANTINE CONSIDERATIONS for more detail.

    ORDERING

    How do I order?

Seeded paper in various sizes and seed types can be ordered directly from our website.

For printed customised products, information can be found here.

Let us know your requirements by submitting our quote form or contact us and we’ll get a quote off to you (and send some samples if requested).

How much will custom cards cost?

The cost depends on several factors… especially size, quantity and detail in artwork. It can also be influenced by what seed you would like as this can determine how the paper can be printed. A price guide of our most popular products can be found here, or if you have something different in mind send us an email or  fill in our QUOTE REQUEST FORM.

    LEAD TIME

How long will it take for me to get my order?

We try to supply most orders for blank seed paper directly from stock. This avoids the delay caused by a slow (handmade) production process. Small orders would be ready for despatch in 2 or 3 days, whilst larger orders might take 2 or 3 weeks. However, if stock is depleted or your order is larger than our current stock, we will have to slot your requirements into the production schedule. For this reason, we always recommend that you let us know as soon as possible that an order is going ahead. We can then allocate stock and make sure it is available for when the artwork is ready.

Custom printed cards that are ordered through our online shopping cart are generally ready to be posted within one to two weeks from artwork approval. Please note that during peak busy periods (November/December) we may require up to three weeks to complete an order.

    PRODUCTION

Can we send you our artwork and get that printed?

Yes. That is the way most customers prefer to do it… send us your PRINT READY PDF artwork and we do the rest.

Can you create artwork for us?

Yes, we can – additional fees apply.  Please note we have limited spots available for this service.

    How do you print?

That depends on the quantity and the seeds. Some of the paper in our range is suitable for offset printing, whilst the herb and veggie seeded paper needs to be inkjet printed to ensure the seeds are not damaged. For more detail about printing, refer to PRINTING GUIDELINES.

    PLANTING

    What are the planting instructions?

    Our standard planting instructions are

Soak card in water until soft. Place card on seed raising mix (in pot or ground). Lightly cover with more mix, water and keep moist. Germination should take 7 – 21 days.

Note that it is important to keep the seeded paper moist (and therefore soft). More information in PLANTING.
