What is seed paper?

  • What exactly is seed paper? Seed paper is a type of handmade paper that is embedded with seeds. It is made by mixing recycled paper pulp with seeds and then allowing it to dry. The result is a unique paper product that not only serves its purpose as a writing or printing material but also has the potential to grow into beautiful plants.
  • Seed paper is an excellent alternative to traditional paper products because it reduces waste and promotes sustainability. Instead of throwing away used paper, you can plant it in soil or a pot, water it, and watch it sprout into a plant. This process not only helps in recycling paper but also contributes to the growth of plants and the preservation of our environment.
  • Our seed paper is available in various types, from flowers to herbs or even a salad mix. Each type of seed paper contains a specific mix of seeds that can thrive in different environments. Whether you want to grow a colorful flower garden or a herb garden for your kitchen, seed paper offers a wide range of options to suit your gardening preferences.
  • So, if you are looking for a creative and eco-friendly solution for your gardening needs, seed paper is the perfect choice. It not only adds a unique touch to your gardening experience but also helps in preserving our environment for future generations.

Process of Creating Seed Paper

  • Part 1 - Using Paper Offcuts

We use a range of Paper offcuts from local schools, offices, organizations, and is mixed into a pulp to create the paper.

  • Part 2 - Adding seeds to the pulp

Seeds are added to the pulp and placed into a water bath. Paper making frames are dipped into the bath to create a sheet of seed paper.
